About Implant Dentures
For patients in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, Calabasas, and Woodland Hills who have lost most or all of their teeth, dentures can help restore your smile. While conventional, removable dentures can be a good choice for some people, implant-supported dentures enhance the stability of the restoration, maintain the structure of the face, and allow you to eat and speak comfortably. Implant-supported dentures are attached to implant posts that are placed in the gums, and then the denture appliance snaps onto the top of the posts. Cosmetic and general dentist Dr. Susan Fredericks offers restorations using a variety of materials and brands to fit each patient's needs with custom implant-supported dentures. If you are interested in these dentures and would like more information, please contact Dr. Fredericks in Woodland Hills, CA to schedule a one-on-one consultation at Southern Cal Smiles.
"If you want a personal dentist with a professional office personnel and the highest quality of care this is the place!! I have had dental nightmares in the past and it took me a while (even with insurance) to walk in an office. Dr. Susan STANDS BEHIND HER WORK, and the receptionist ALWAYS sends reminders including an email with a calendar interface for my Samsung phone. Accommodating schedules too!!! Open some Saturdays and late Wednesday night. As a person who travels for business...this is a HUGE plus! Higeinists are all caring (yes...learned the proper way to floss-yes THAT is a thing)...As long as I am in this area I will stick with this office of great people! Don't hesitate, just make an appointment!"- J.M. / Yelp / Jan 16, 2019

"My life has changed so much since I came to see Dr. Fredericks I smile so much. I never felt beautiful because my teeth were so distracting. My personality has also changed because now that I smile more, people smile back at me; it has been contagious. I laugh and enjoy living. I have changed my name to Sandy Beach and I will use that as my pen name as I am writing a book. When people meet me they laugh and smile when I tell them the name. Thank you Susan for giving me my confidence back."- S.B. / Healthgrades / Dec 15, 2019

"I have been a patient of Dr. Susan's for many many years and she has always taken great care of me. However, today she really impressed me when I came in for a tooth that I broke she examined the tooth, gums, and xray. She realized that I what I needed was a better Xray so she referred me to a root canal specialist in the building. He took the Xray and concluded that Susan was right and that I did indeed need a root canal. Susan Fredericks made sure I was seen the same day and that I got the necessary work done. She knows when she can do something and she also knows and is not afraid to admit when a certain procedure is best done by another dentist (specialist); and for that I have great respect and trust for her. Thank You Dr.Fredericks"- C.L. / Healthgrades / Dec 10, 2019
What to Expect
To ensure your implant dentures fit securely and naturally, Dr. Fredericks will use digital x-rays, CT scans, and/or physical impressions of your mouth that will be sent to a dental laboratory. While you are under general or local anesthesia, Dr. Fredericks will surgically implant the anchors in the upper and/or lower jawbone. You will be given temporary dentures to wear as your permanent dentures are being made and your anchors integrate into the bone. Once the implants are secure, Dr. Fredericks will attach the permanent dentures to the implants and adjust for a comfortable fit.
Once the permanent dentures are in place, you will have checkups over the next few weeks and months to perfect their fit. Implant-supported dentures should be cared for with daily brushing, flossing, and rinsing with mouthwash — just like natural teeth. You should continue to visit schedule professional cleanings and dental exams at Southern Cal Smiles as recommended by Dr. Fredericks. With proper care, implant dentures can last 5 – 10 years.
Depending on your dental insurance carrier and specific policy, some of the cost of implant dentures may be covered. Our office will work with your insurance company to determine your coverage and maximize your benefits before determining your costs. Southern Cal Smiles accepts several payment options and we offer financing plans to make your dental care affordable.
